UK Pastry Open & UK Team Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie

Selection process for 2019 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie has already started and is heading to United Kingdom. The 4th UK PASTRY OPEN organised by the UK Pastry Club will be held on October 2nd 2017 at the RESTAURANT SHOW, unique trade event caters to those owning, operating and working in restaurants, hotels, catering companies, cafes and leisure establishments across the UK.

As well as presenting 5 plated desserts of their own creation and to match their chosen theme for the competition, each candidate will also be asked to prepare within 6 hours a chocolate, sugar or ice carving display.

A jury panel of highly recognised professionals will be assembled and revealed at later stage.

The Winner of the competition will be part of the official UK Team, automatically qualified for the grand finale Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, next January 27 & 28. The TOP 5 allows to reach the finale without having to prove their worth through the continental selection events and represents the 5 best ranked teams in the 3 last final tests.

The bi -annual most prestigious pastry competition in the world will also celebrate its 30th anniversary and make the event, more than ever, an unforgettable show at the SIRHA exhibition, organised by GL events.

- sugar winner with a Tastelab 3 days class with Emmanuel Forcone (sugar showpiece) in September 2018

Classic Fine Foods will also donate for the best tasting winner, a pastry chef kit hamper including: a bag of chocolate dark, milk, white and blond in 1kg, PCB colouring selection and PCB essentials, Sosa selection, Louis François selection, scraper, spatula, maryse, apron and chef hat, Silikomart moulds, Jarpega stainless steel rings.

Valrhona will support

- the overall winner with 8 bars gd cru + book + 1 bag Guanaja
- the best chocolate display with 8 bars gd cru + book + 1 bag Inspiration Passion + a training in Valrhona School
- the best sugar display with 8 bars gd cru
- the ice carving display with 8 bars gd cru
- the best tasting with 8 bars gd cru + book

At last but no lease, as a courtesy of Ritter Courivaud and Patisfrance, the overall winner will receive a 3 days course at Chicago school of pastry (travel and accommodation included).

The Ice carving candidate will benefit from training courses until the grand finale Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie next January 2019.
