Kikkoman Masters 2016 open for entries
The world’s leading soy sauce manufacturer, Kikkoman returns with its highly regarded Kikkoman Masters competitionoffering professional chefs the chance to showcase their talent and win a 7-day gastronomic tour of Japan.
The prestigious catering competition will see finalists invited to the Restaurant Show on Monday 3rd October to take part in a cook-off after a panel of judges create a shortlist of the very best entries.
Finalists are required to devise two courses using Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce as an integral ingredient. They will have 90 minutes during the final to cook their dishes which must use meat or fish in either course.

Ben Champkin of L’Enclume crowned as our Kikkoman Masters Winner 2015. Ben will be heading off to Japan later this month to experience first-hand the wonderful flavours of Japan. The competition is now open to find a worthy 2016 winner.
“Kikkoman is incredibly popular with UK chefs for its authenticity - made using just four ingredients – soybeans, wheat, salt and water – and its natural brewing process which gives it a superior flavour”.
Ben Champkin, Winner of Kikkoman Masters 2015 said “Taking part in the Kikkoman Masters Competition was a great experience and a trip to Japan is a chef’s dream come true. It’s a great honour to be invited to judge this year’s competition later in the year.”
Also joining Bing-yu Lee on the judging panel will be Simon Hulstone, Michelin-starred Chef at The Elephant, Torquay; Brian Turner, OBE; David Mulcahy, Craft Guild of Chefs; Stefan Chomka, Editor of The Restaurant Magazine and Scott Hallsworth of Kurobuta.
Kikkoman Soy Sauce is a multi-purpose seasoning which can be used across a wide variety of food cultures including Western style cuisine.
